Fans Create Animated LEGO Short That is On Par With The LEGO Movies

The Nukazooka YouTube channel is home to some fantastic VFX-laden shorts created by super fans of the properties the shorts are based on, and its latest creation, LEGO: The Great Escape, is just another reason why you should give them a sub.

This short is on par with The LEGO Movies in terms of the VFX work if anything else, because the animate is silky smooth, and also full of hidden pop culture nuggets to spy. The story the short tells is also very well done and thought out, so while the Nuka-team is a collection of creatives on YouTube, the work is on par with what you’d get out of a professional studio.

The short is very cleary inspired by The LEGO Movies and how they blend the real world with the toy’s world, so it’s not really breaking new ground, rather it’s expanding on it in ways that fans could never have done before by creating their own stories to both honor the properties they’re based on, as well as to tell stories of their own.

Head on up above to check it out.
