Final Fantasy 7 for the PC has been officially confirmed by Square Enix as is evident in this new website for the game. From the looks of things I’m not sure I’d call this a HD remake, which most of us would gladly kill people for, but Square is adding some new features to this FFVII PC release to sweeten the deal. This version of the classic will feature achievements, character boosts, and the ability to save the game in the cloud so you can play anywhere (internet connection required) while on the go.
I definitely pitched a tent over this reveal even though this PC version won’t be available for the Mac platform. At least Square is showing signs that they’re interested in milking the old Final Fantasy 7 franchise again, so maybe one day we’ll all get that remake that we’ve been wanting since 1997.
