First DLC for ‘Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’ Revealed

Finally, after adventuring through Hyrule for just about two months now, the first DLC pack for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has been revealed. There is a lot to this first DLC pack so lets get right to it shall we? First off, this pack is included in the standard price of the expansion pass for $19.99 and will release this summer. Af for the contents of this DLC, here they are:

Trial of the Sword: This new trial will put Link up against waves of enemies. You will start without any weapons or armor and will have to make your way through 45 levels of enemies. If you manage to defeat this challenge, you will be granted with the Master Sword’s true power and it will always be in its glowing state.

Hard Mode: Hard mode does just what it sounds like. This will make the game much more difficult in many ways. Each rank of enemy will go up by one, so your red Bokoblins will now be blue and so on. There’s even a chance you will encounter new ranks of enemies that don’t appear in the normal mode. Enemies will recover health during combat and will spot Link easier than they did in normal mode. Hard mode will also put floating planks in the sky that will yield treasure if you can get up to them to defeat the enemies.

Hero’s Path Mode: This one is really cool. This new mode will track Link’s whereabouts in green on your map for the past 200 hours of gameplay. This documents every single step you take and will work retroactively, so for players that have been playing for a long time will have their steps already tracked on the map. This will make it easier for players to find locations they haven’t been to and make it a little easier to find shrines you haven’t visited.

There is going to be some new equipment coming into the game as well. The Travel Medallion will be in a chest somewhere in the world and will allow you to create a temporary travel point. Link can fast travel to this point, but only one point can be created at one time during the game. The Korok Mask will be a wearable item that will shake when there is a Korok hidden nearby. On top of all of this, eight new pieces of equipment will be added based off of characters from past games like Tingle, Majora’s Mask, Midna and Phantom. You can see pictures of these down below.
