First LEGO Star Wars: All Stars Short Tells Roger the Battle Droid’s Origin Story

Last week, Disney revealed that a new animated series of LEGO Star Wars shorts would be releasing today through November 5, with four full length episodes coming later this month. Today, the first short released, and it tells the origin story of Roger the Battle Droid, who first became a main Star Wars character on the LEGO Star Wars: Freemaker Adventures series.

The short shows how Roger was forged, and how he fought in all of the major Clone Wars battles, in addition to getting his first action at the Battle of Naboo. The episode is two and a half minutes long, and features a nice short and to the point retelling of Roger’s past, and it naturally infuses the LEGO animated cheekiness into it. I’m not sure why he was on board the Falcon with Young Han and Chewie outside of using their TIE Fighter chase as a reason to tell a story. I would’ve figured he would have been with the Freemakers if anything else.

Oh well, it’s a solid start to the LEGO Star Wars: All-Stars series of shorts, so I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s episode. Stay tuned for its debut via EB sometime tomorrow afternoon.
