Later this week in Cologne, Germany, Gamescom 2015 will kick off and bring with many exciting announcements about some of the biggest titles due out later this year and early in 2016. While there are sure to be some surprising reveals, here’s a list of 5 games we know are going to have big things to show off at this year’s conference.

Metal Gear Solid V

Though this highly-anticipated title is releasing in less than a month, Gamescom 2015 will be the first time members of the public will actually get to have a hands-on experience with The Phantom Pain. The confirmed demo will most likely feature some of the Afghanistan gameplay we have previously seen at E3, as well as new details on the features of the Forward-Operating Mother Base system that will allow players to stockpile supplies and resources in a multiplayer strategy game. It would also be safe to assume we learn more about Metal Gear Online this week, with a possible beta to follow on consoles.

World of Warcraft

The biggest video game of all time is getting even bigger, as Blizzard has announced that the next massive expansion is ready to be revealed. A streamed chat with developers on August 6 will detail the next step in the Warcraft saga. The previous update, Warlords of Draenor, was met with mixed reviews from long-time fans. Blizzard has also recently announced the newest expansion for their digital trading card game Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, so expect big things from both games in Germany.

Crackdown

Many of the biggest Xbox One titles were absent at E3 this year, with the promise that they would next be seen at Gamescom. It has been well over a year since the rebooted Crackdown was announced, but fans are still dying to see gameplay and get some more details on the intense action game. Microsoft is boldly declaring this year to have the best lineup in Xbox history, and hopefully they follow through.

Star Wars Battlefront

Battlefront still has a number of gamers to win over, despite an impressive showing at E3 and Star Wars Celebration, some are rightfully skeptical of EA’s DLC policy and the amount of content that will be available at launch. So far, we have only seen two gameplay modes from the game, and a handful of maps. The newest multiplayer mode, Blast (10v10 team deathmatch), was announced last week. Gamescom is set to bring us more in-engine gameplay and new weapon, hero and map reveals. With a strong enough presentation, Star Wars Battlefront may become the most-anticipated FPS of the year for many gamers.

Scalebound

One of the Xbox One’s most promising titles is its most mysterious. Scalebound, an action title developed by Platinum Games (of Bayonetta and Metal Gear Rising fame) was one of the first exclusives announced by Microsoft but nothing has been seen since the initial trailer. Many were let down by the game’s absence at E3 but Microsoft is adamant that the wait will be justified when the game is fully revealed at Gamescom. The Xbox One is desperately in need of compelling originals that will help it compete with the powerhouse that is the PS4, and if Scalebound hits in early 2016, it just may be that game.
