About a year ago, 20th Century Fox staked it’s claim in the video game industry with their announcement of the creation of FoxNext Games. The first title that they announced is the mobile squad based fighter, MARVEL Strike Force. FoxNext Games most recent move was the acquisition of the Bay Area-based studio, Cold Iron Studios, known for their work in massively multiplayer online games. Their first game together will be a shooter for both PC and consoles set in the cinematic universe of the Alien franchise. What this means is that FoxNext is aiming to deliver AAA games for fan favorite franchise across all platforms.

Cold Iron Studios is filled with industry veterans that have worked on huge titles such as Neverwinter, Metroid Prime 3, Bioshock Infinite, City of Heroes and many other games. Chief Executive Officer Craig Zinkievich at Cold Iron has said, “We believe in FoxNext’s vision and we are thrilled about the opportunity to explore an amazing and rich universe.” They are excited for the new acquisition just as much as we are. We will be getting more information soon on their first upcoming game. As for FoxNext, their first game MARVEL Strike Force is slated to launch sometime this year!
