In an attempt to bring some consumers back to its Windows PC platform, Microsoft is handing out 4GB Xbox 360 Slims to high school and college students that purchase a $699+ Windows based PC. You can’t beat that deal with a stick can you? Microsoft is leveraging their excellent game console to sway students from making the jump to a tablet, or even worse in their eyes, a full on Mac experience. Apple has chipped away at MS for the past few years, and with the mega-success of the iPad line, many younger consumers are going for the hip gadget versus one that may be a little more functional for their schooling needs.
To score a free Xbox 360 Slim all you have to do is go to Best Buy, the Microsoft Store, Dell.com, or HP.com with your student ID (.edu email if online). Then as along as you buy one of the approved devices that is $699 or more MS will gladly throw in the 4GB version of the 360 Slim as a thank you for getting your Windows on. What I’m wondering is if this applies to educators as well? I mean I already have 3 Xbox 360’s, but 4 is such a better looking figure. If you qualify for this deal the promotion begins today at the retailers that were listed above. Happy gadget shopping to those of you that are in the market for a new PC!
