Game of Pods: A Discussion of Our Favorites Played in 2017

The gaming industry in 2017 was a tumultuous one, as seems to be the case with each passing year. Bungie bungled Destiny 2 while EA and Dice discovered that their microtransaction strategy critically deep-sixed a Battlefront II game that may have otherwise found favorable chatter. But alas, amongst the angst came plenty of great games. Horizon: Zero Dawn provided stunning vistas while PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds brought multi-player to a whole new level (and wasn’t even officially released until this week).

As the year comes to an end, we at EB decided to sit down and have a chat about some of our favorites we’ve played over the past twelve months. This list covers a couple games released outside of this year, because we’re human and backlogs don’t discriminate. Don’t fret though, Cuphead gets a full take. So saddle up and hit play as Matt, Ana, Keith, Ray, and myself pop off our favories along with a quick round of some games we found disappointing.
