Game of Thrones Season 2 Impressions and a Look at What’s to Come
The first episode of Game of Thrones‘ second season debuted last night, and like the previous 10 it was captivating as all hell. ‘The North Remembers’ more or less picks up right where season 1 left off. The Lannisters are at war with the Starks, the Baratheon’s are fighting each other, and Daenerys is wandering around a desert with her three baby dragons. All of the political intrigue from the first season has boiled over into this current one, and the premiere episode did a fine job bridging the two seasons together.
Again, I’m not a reader of the books, so the show has been my only source of Martin material, but just like last season I’m finding season 2 to be an excellent Cliff’s Notes version of the massive novels. It’s going to be interesting for someone like me to see how all of these warring families will eventually work out their issues, because last night’s episode has set the stage for this season to be a bloody one. Game of Thrones is truly a fantasy based mob show set in a mystical world filled with interesting people who have great stories to be told.
‘The North Remembers’ was a great kicking off point for another backstabbing filled season of Game of Thrones, so if you haven’t seen it yet make sure to get yourself acquainted as soon as possible. To get you in the mood there’s a preview trailer for the things to come in the second season, so check it out to see what the people of Westeros will be up to in Game of Thrones season 2. Let’s just say that winter is coming, and it’s going to be a long one. You’ve been needing a subscription to HBO…
