Game of Thrones Season 8 Gets a Teaser That May Also Explain Origins of Dragonglass

HBO has posted a super-duper teaser video for Game of Thrones that possibly explains how Dragonglass is formed. If anything, the teaser is a visual play on Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire title, which is the overarching title for his books that became the basis for HBO’s live-action Game of Thrones series.

The teaser doesn’t show any scene or characters, rather is shows ice and fire spreading across Westeros, but when the two elemental forces meet in the middle, they collide and form what looks to be Dragonglass. It’s either that or really shiny looking black stuff, but I’m going with Dragonglass. The teaser has Dragonstone in the title, so I don’t think I’m that far off.

Who knows if I’m digging too deep into a teaser, and it’s as big as a tease as it gets, but I don’t think the animations were created for shits and giggles. I do think there’s a meaning behind the teaser and how it shows ice and fire meeting to make Dragonglass, but I could be wrong.

Check it out for yourself above. Game of Thrones returns this April.
