Gamestop Chooses Android for its Gaming Tablet

Gamestop has announced today that they will use Android’s tablet OS for their certified gaming tablet.  There hasn’t been an official release date for this unnamed gaming tablet from Gamestop, but it will utilize custom embedded game controls and an On-Live like cloud based gaming service.  Who knows how this project will turn out, but I’ll be keeping an eye on it.  I just don’t see console games getting ported to this platform, but maybe it’ll spawn a a whole genre of games like the iPhone did for mobile phones.  The Gamestop gaming tablet’s games would definitely have to cater to the custom control scheme of this tablet, so developers will more than likely make exclusive titles just for it.  That is if it takes off.  I’m skeptical but will keep an open mind until I see one in the wild.  How about you?  Would you go for a Gamestop gaming tablet that uses the Cloud?  You’ve been tableted out…
