The streets of Gotham City have always been rough and tumble, but the Batman has been there to clean them up. This cycle is set to break once Batman: Arkham Origins hits store shelves, as Warner Bros. Interactive revealed the game’s multiplayer component today.

Batman: Arkham Origins will feature a mulitplayer mode that takes the game’s signature combat and takes it to the online realm, allowing players to compete in 3 vs. 3 vs. 2 matches. Players will be able to battle against their friends or online challengers as either the elite thugs of the Joker or Bane, or hunt stalk the night as Batman and Robin’s team.

The multiplayer mode looks to expand on the amazing formula that has made the Arkham series so wildly successful, allowing players to take their combat skills to the masses. Blending the much-loved game mechanincs with that of third-person shooter elements ensures that the online play in Batmand: Arkham Origins will provide endless enjoyment and challenge.

To make matters even sweeter, teams will have the ability to turn the tides of a battle and call in the Joker and Bane when the going gets rough.

The multiplayer component is set to ship with Batman: Arkham Origins on October 25th, ensuring that gamers across the globe will be able fight across Gotham the second the game is booted up.

If the simple announcement of Arkham Origins’ multiplayer mode isn’t enough to get you excited, do yourself a favor and check out the official reveal trailer below. Gotham isn’t big enough for all of us, prepare for the mulitplayer mayhem.
