Epic has made a host of changes to Gears of War’s Horde mode that include everything from new defenses to butcher’s cleavers, and they’ve been showing off these new additions this week at E3.  Horde 2.0 as they’re calling it, truly earns the bump in version number due to the sheer amount of changes being made to its game play.  You will now be able to build fences, silverbacks, turrets, and many other defenses to help protect you from the Locust a-holes trying to take you out.  To do this, a new money system has been implemented into Horde 2.0 that allows each player to spend their cash on new items in between rounds.  On top of the money and defense structures, gamers will also have boss battles during waves of Horde 2.0 that will require much more team work than the old Horde mode.

It’s Mutha F*cking Cole Train With a Cleaver Baby! Wooooo!

The best part of the new Horde 2.0 has to be the butcher’s cleaver!  Yes, the huge broadsword like weapon of the Locust Butcher will be available for the COGs to use on some unfortunate Locust skulls.  In fact, I even think it’s going to be released as a real life toy as you’ll see in the video below when a very special guest comes on stage to demo it.  Epic is truly out doing themselves with all of the new Gears of War 3 features, and Horde 2.0 definitely is raising the bar on the original.  Take a look @GearsViking’s E3 Horde 2.0 demo below.  You’ve always wanted to see the real Cole Train let out a, “Woooooooooo!!”…
