This bit of news has double the goodness.  Gears of War is one of my favorite gaming franchises out there.  If it wasn’t for the shit multiplayer in Gears of War 2 I’d probably still be playing it daily, but we don’t always get what we want do we?  The second piece of this news is that Electronic Gaming Monthly is back after the corporate monsters shut down its publications back in 2008.

How do these two relate to each other?  Well I guess EGM’s first issue, once they’re fully operational, will feature an article about Gears of War 3.  We all knew it was coming, but the details have been scarce.  I’ve heard Gears of War 3 may be released in April of 2011.  This is mainly to avoid the inevitable Halo: Reach launch this fall.  We all know the Master Chief and his Halo universe cleans up when a new title releases, so it’s probably a good idea.

Especially after the let down of Gears of War 2 multiplayer.  The campaign was great, but the bugs that plagued the multiplayer piece just ruined the title.  EPIC better take their time with the final installment in the Trilogy, and not release it until they can correct the lag fest known as GOW 2 multiplayer.

How about that, two great announcements bundled together in a symbiotic relationship.  If you were a fan of EGM before, you can sign up now at this link.  They have a new digital edition, which is really cool to step through, and the print editions should be coming to a mailbox near you shortly.

You’ve been enlightened…
