Gears of War Author Writing GOW 3’s Storyline

I must admit that I’m kind of surprised that I haven’t read the Gears of War novels yet, but I don’t think I can really read anyways, so it’s all good.  In all seriousness, I usually do read sci-fi books that are related to the video-games that I play, but for some reason I haven’t checked out the Gears of War novels.  Quit laughing, I know I’m a geek, but keep your eyes peeled because we’re taking over the world!

Karen Traviss has already written, Gears of War: The Battle of Aspho Fields and Gears of War 2: Jacinto’s Remnant, with Aspho being a prequel to the first Gears game, and Remnant being a bridge between GOW 2 and next year’s Gears of War 3.  I’ve been told from my man OneChild that the books are great, so I may have to check them out now that Karen Traviss is actually involved with the storyline in Gears of War 3.

I think it’s a great move by EPIC to help compose the finale of their trilogy.  It’ll help tie all of the games and the resutlitng expanded universes together, which will make for a very deep fictional universe.  I’m all about stories tying together, so this collaborative effort should be a match made in heaven for all geeks like me.  Lets do ourselves a favor and pick up those Gears of War novels today.

You’ve been enlightened…
