Gears of War Labor Day XP Event to Have No Cap!

I tweeted the initial report yesterday, but today EPIC has made some clarifications in regards to the GOW Facebook/XP extravaganza.  Here’s the deal – Gears of War 2 will have another crazy XP event during Labor Day weekend, which will run from 9/3 – 9/7.  Just like the Rod Fergusson Twitter event, the Labor Day XP multiplier will depend on how many followers the Official Gears of War Facebook page has.  EPIC hasn’t set a cutoff date for gaining Facebook followers yet, but they have confirmed that unlike the Twitter event, they won’t put a cap on the XP multiplier.

This is HUGE!  The formula they will use for the final calculation goes like this – Total # of Facebook Fans/1000.  Like I mentioned there is no cap, so the XP multiplier possibilities are endless.  If we as gamers can get the word out, and really add some numbers to the GOW Facebook page, we could be looking at a retarded number as the multiplier.  I’d love to at least get more than 20x XP, which is what was implemented for the Twitter event.  Just think about what 50x XP could do for your rank and subsequent cheves!

I will almost guarantee that if the multiplier is greater than 20x XP I will make the push for level 100.  I don’t care if I have to do the old Security Horde boosting method for it, but I’m not going to let this opportunity evade me.  I never thought in a million years I’d get to 100.  This isn’t because I blow, but rather because it was such a daunting task without XP multipliers.  I’m talking like taking 2 years to reach level 100 type of daunting.

Make sure to Like GOW on Facebook if you haven’t already done so.  At the time of this writing they have over 15k fans, so we are already at 15x XP!  I think reaching 30x XP is attainable.  Gamers, you better cancel your Labor Day plans and rot your brains out.  You’ve been challenged to get stupid amounts of XP in Gears of War 2…
