Geek Makes 3D Video Caputre a Reality with Kinect

It hasn’t even been 2 full weeks since the Kinect hit the US market, and already the geek crowd has begun reverse engineering it for other uses.  I wrote about the NUI Group last week who were able to get the Kinect drivers working with Windows 7 to do some basic sensor capturing.  Well some dude by the name of okreylos has taken this a step further, and managed a way to have the Kinect capture video in 3D.  It’s freaking amazing considering the short amount of time the Kinect has been on the market, and how all of the reverse engineering work is done from scratch.  Remember, Microsoft is not sending these geeks kits to use.  These super geniuses are doing all of this with their geek know how.  Check out the Kinect 3D capture demo below.  You’ll be amazed once he starts showing it off as the video your watching is the live 3D capture feed from his Kinect.  You’ve been thinking that the future is right around the corner…
