George Lucas Mistakenly Reveals Star Wars Episode VII Cast Signings

In a recent interview with Bloomberg Businessweek George Lucas more or less confirmed that Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford have all entered the final stages of negotiations to star in Star Wars Episode VII.  Of course after letting the cat out of the bag he tried to rescind his statement, but the damage has already been done.  You can check out an excerpt of the interview below and make up your own mind in regards to his statements, but I’m leaning towards them being legit.

Asked whether members of the original Star Wars cast will appear in Episode VII and if he called them before the deal closed to keep them informed, Lucas says, “We had already signed Mark and Carrie and Harrison—or we were pretty much in final stages of negotiation. So I called them to say, ‘Look, this is what’s going on.’ ” He pauses. “Maybe I’m not supposed to say that. I think they want to announce that with some big whoop-de-do, but we were negotiating with them.” Then he adds: “I won’t say whether the negotiations were successful or not.”

In other George Lucas news he’s announced via a CBS interview that he is planning on getting into the museum curation business.  There’s a video spot of this interview that you can check out below.  Thanks to one of our fans for pointing this Lucas news out.  You’ve been wanting to know the plot of Episode VII more than the cast…
