Rocket League’s new game mode, Dropshot, is intense! Get this. It adds dynamic breakable floors, an electrified ball, and a new hexagonal arena: Core 707. I know your throttle finger is itching already, but let me give you the lowdown. First off, this game mode adds “damage” as a new statistic alongside goals, saves, and assists. Now, the more damage you do is tracked by how many floor panels you break, and you get them to break with the ball. One ball hit and the panel lights up; once it’s hit again, the panel breaks leaving a hole for you to shoot the ball into.
Now since the ball is electrified it has three phases, the first being the least amount of damage. But the more car hits on a ball the more charge it has, which means it activates a wider range of panels—up to seven or nineteen panels—depending on what phase and how many consecutive hits. They were also quoted saying:
“We have a host of other changes coming to Rocket League, including new achievements/trophies, painted Bodies and Rocket Trails, an Esports content button, the end of Competitive Season 3, a new Skill Tier hierarchy, and more!”
All of this is getting me awfully excited, dropshot is available to play now and you can also check out the trailer above.
