EA and DICE have put out a new featurette for Star Wars Battlefront 2 to provide insights into the Imperial forces, who will technically be the heroes of the game’s campaign. This is due to the fact that the game’s lead character, Iden Versio, is an Imperial Special Forces Commander, so rather than playing from the perspective of a Rebel good guy, players will be playing from behind the helmet of an Imperial bad girl.

I think this is a very interesting way to approach the Star Wars saga, and one we haven’t really seen before. It’ll be weird to be presented with situations in which the Rebels are the bad guys trying to stop you from doing whatever you believe is right for the Empire. It’s a cool concept and has all sorts of story potential. I would assume whatever we get story wise will be canon too, so even though we will be playing as the traditional bad guys in Battlefront 2, at least we will get to see how life was on the other side during and after one of the most iconic events in Star Wars lore.

Head on up above to check out the video.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 releases on November 14th for those who pre-ordered the Elite Edition, and then releases for everyone else on November 17th.
