Golem Trailer: A Kid And Their Big Rock Creature

Golem, for all intents and purposes, is another “giant creature helps small child in larger-than-life journey” game that we’ve had so many of in the last few years. The thing that stands out about this is that the Golem actually changes throughout the course of the game, taking on multiple different shapes and sizes. I don’t know how this will play into the game, if certain forms will be more combat-heavy or puzzle-heavy, and how frequent the transformations are. I do thing that it’s a cool idea to have the guardian of the kid take on different forms, it seems like it will keep the game from getting too tired.

Don’t get me wrong, these types of games are pretty fun, but sometimes the emotional weight is lessened when there’s so many of them. I would be very happy for this game to blow me away though and prove my doubts totally wrong. Believe me, I don’t like being right about a game being run of the mill, I WANT more games to be good, not meh. Check out the trailer above and let us know what you think, and if you’re feeling a bit fatigued of this story approach.
