Google TV Finally Getting Updated on 10/30 With New UI and Apps

Google TV version 2.0 is finally almost here!  It’s been over a year since Google TV has been in the wild with its less than stellar software, so this 2.0 update has long been on the minds of early adopters.  I’m one of those early adopters, so I’m eager to see the proposed changes that will come down the pipe in the OTA update for Google TV, which should hit your devices sometime this Sunday (10/30/11).

One of the main changes in Google TV 2.0 is a new and improved UI.  I’m not a gadget retard, so I was able to navigate my Google TV right out of the box, but for users without my Jedi like geek skills it was a cumbersome system.  In addition to the overall UI improvements Google TV users will finally have access to the Android Market.  The Market will have specific apps made for TV’s within it, as well as some other apps that Android users may be familiar with on their smartphones.  Stay tuned for an update on how this operation goes, because I’ll update the world once I get my OTA update on 10/30 (if I get it, it’s an Android update after all).  You’ve been needing to dust off your Google TV unit…
