OnLive seems to be in the tech news more often than not these days, and with each announcement their service seems to become more robust.  I just posted their announcement about Windows 7 apps streaming to iPads a few days ago, and yet again today they dropped another major announcement in regards to their service running on Google TV devices.  Starting today Google TV owners will be able to download the OnLive client from the Android Market to watch gaming matches as spectators.  Now while that sounds about as fun as watching your older brother monopolize your NES, the service will eventually include the ability to play OnLive games via your GoogleTV.

The addition of OnLive, and the eventual ability to game via your GTV unit, definitely improves the offerings of this struggling home entertainment device that Google has struggled to deliver on.  I think the moves that OnLive is making will eventually cement them as the premiere cloud based gaming company in the Universe, so if you haven’t checked out their wares yet you really need to.  They offer great tech that only seems to increase in functionality month after month.  Don’t forget that you can download the OnLive Viewer app to your GoogleTV device today!  You’ve been thinking that you may not even need to buy the OnLive hardware unit if this partnership is a success…
