Granitecon 2017 is Going to Rock!

Granitecon 2017 is one of the few good reasons I have to live in New Hampshire, and it kicks more and more ass every year. I’ve gone the last two years in a row and enjoyed every second; between the cosplayers, the artists, the panels, and even a few games, it’s a blast! I just want to take a second to tell you what you should be expecting from the convention, and what you’ll be hearing from us when I check it out again this weekend in Manchester, NH.
Overwatch Voice Actor Panel
D.Va and Mercy are going to be there this year. They’ve got their own panel and it’s going to be amazing. Any chance to see the voices behind some of your favorite cartoon or video game characters is amazing [Editor’s Note: Having witnessed Phil LaMarr’s panel at Awesome Con earlier this year, this is so very true]
If you’ve seen any of the Overwatch voice actors at any panel, in-person or on YouTube, you know how much they all love meeting fans. They love doing their lines from the game for people. They’re so damn nice and they really embrace the hell out of their characters—even in real life. I’ll put a link to the website at the end of this post for anyone that wants to check it out.
Also, Troy Baker
Yes, Troy Baker will also be there for you to meet and chat with. I can’t even list all of the voices this guy lent himself to. Aside from Nolan North, he’s probably one of the most famous male video game voice actors, and deservedly so! Be sure to bring your copy of Bioshock: Infinite for him to sign (or whatever game you’d like); chances are his voice is somewhere in it.
So. Many. Artists.
Every year I go to Granitecon, I end up buying a handful of handmade figures, posters, prints, etc. from a bunch of different artists. It’s nice being able to find one-of-a-kind art, then paying money right to the people who made it. Granted: you can find this at most conventions, but, for me, since it’s in my home state, it’s extra special.
If and when I buy stuff this year, I’ll be sure to post about it either on here or over on my Instagram.
The ’90s After-Party
The Jewel Nightclub is gonna be full of convention-goers dressed in their best ’90s apparel, and it’s gonna be awesome! There’s gonna be a multiplayer gaming lounge for people to chill and game with each other, as well as an arcade gauntlet where you can play certain games for prizes.
Not to mention, for those who like to get their drink on, there will be a selection of ’90s-themed cocktails. I hope none of them are themed after Ren and Stimpy. I don’t want to know what that tastes like.
Fun For Everyone!
Seriously, there is so much going on at Granitecon. Kids can learn to draw like comic-book artists. You can meet industry celebs, buy cool shit, and meet fun people! Don’t forget to stop back here for more news and info on the convention.
