There have been a ton of unique and beautiful action-platformers in recent years. I recently played The King’s Bird, and it was a fantastic addition to the genre, and GRIS looks, in my opinion, even MORE gorgeous. I should add that sometimes these art project games wind up being all style, no substance, but they can also become instant classics upon release.

Devolver Digital has been on a roll with publishing fantastic indie games lately, and I hope that GRIS joins those ranks. The painted, smoky art style of the game flow like water, and I’m hoping it winds up being more than just holding right and looking at pretty pictures. Something that makes you think while it takes your breath away is one of the best possible combinations for a game. Check out the trailer above and let us know if it blows you away as much as it does me!
