Halo 5: Guardians is just four days from releasing to the public, and the hype surrounding it is thick, which isn’t a surprise considering it’s been three years since the last major Halo release. Members of the media, such as ourselves, have been playing the game’s campaign for about a week now, but thanks to the 9GB multiplayer patch that released on the 22nd, we can now dabble in the game’s comprehensive multiplayer component.
Part of the patch unlocked the game’s new REQ system, as well as the various customizations you can give to your Spartan, so I recorded some footage and added some commentary to show these two menu items in more detail. The REQ system and its massive amount of REQ card unlocks is impressive to say the least. There are 175 helmets and suits of armor, plus 53 visors, and that’s only scratching the surface of the REQ cards that unlock cosmetic items. There are also weapon skins, enhancements, boosts, and other items that can give you an edge in Warzone or Arena, so the amount of unlocks is obscene, and there will probably be more added over time.
You can check out this new feature, as well as the Spartan customization menu, and the button mapping layouts in more detail via the video below.
Halo 5: Guardians hits the Xbox One on October 27, 2015.
