Halo: Combat Evolved Getting a Makeover For Next-Gen Consoles

The guys over at Joystiq have confirmed that a remake of Bungie’s first ever Halo game is in the works.  Supposedly, this November 15 we will get a souped up version of the game that put the original Xbox on the map, and made Microsoft a contender in the videogame arena.  The re-tooled version of Halo: Combat Evolved will support 1080p visuals as well as some 3D magic.

It’s not being made by Bungie, rather 343 Industries hired Inversion to do the work.  So what do you think?  I think it’s pretty f*cking dope!  This was the game that started it all nearly 10 years ago and it deserves a new set of shoes.  I’m still not going to put that much faith into it until I see an official announcement from Microsoft, but most of the Internet rumblings are pointing to the remake of Halo: Combat Evolved as being true.  Stay tuned for more details.  You’ve been wanting some achievements for the first ever Halo game…
