Halo Summer Celebration Teases 4K Halo 5, Backwards Compatibility, and More

Microsoft and 343 Industries have kicked off a Halo summer celebration with a bunch of Halo universe announcements that should make fans of the franchise happy. The first big reveal is that Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo 4, and Halo: CE Anniversary will be coming to backwards compatibility with all of the released DLC being free to download, which is a mega-bonus. Players will also be able to play online with Xbox One and Xbox 360 versions of the game.

The second big reveal is that Halo 5 will support full 4K visuals when the Xbox One X releases later this fall. A patch will be issued to achieve the 4K upgrade, so if you plan on getting the One X you can replay Halo 5’s campaign and MP modes in glorious native 4K.
