E3 2015 was all about the new AAA games that were announced, but there were things other than games to check out on the show floor if you were there. As a matter of fact, the Performance Designed Product (PDP) booth had some great things to show off during E3. The various products ranged from controllers and amiibo displays to awesome accessories for all your gaming needs.
This October PDP will be releasing a universal controller for the PlayStation 4, which will make for much better movie viewing on the console. The days of fumbling with the dual shock controller are over while you try to operate the console’s video playing applications. You can finally watch your Netflix without the fear of accidentally fast forwarding through a scene, or accidentally stopping the show altogether. The remote is going for $29.99 and is available for pre-order on Amazon.com.
Speaking of PlayStation, PDP will also be releasing attachable battery packs for the dualshock controllers. Sure other brands have released power packs that extend the controller’s battery life, but the Energizer battery packs are small enough that they will not get in the way while you play. Plus, they simply attach to the USB port and will all you to play for hours without having to switch out your dualshock controller. Look for those to come out sometime during October this year.
PDP also has a ton of stuff releasing this year for the Xbox One. A new Xbox One charging station is going to be released this October that will be better for your controllers. The USB port on the controller will get a much needed break and the fear of the controller randomly falling is gone. This Energizer charging station lays flat and you simply insert the controller to charge them. The great thing about the charging station is that it has a meter on the base to see how far the controller are from charging. That way once you see that the controller has been charged to 100% you are all set to play some Halo:Master Chief Collection for a marathon-sized session.
Charging stations are cool, but a controller is better. The Afterglow Prismatic Wired Controller for Xbox One is going to be released this Fall. You can customize the color of the controller with the simple push of a button and the turn of a joystick. I was able to get a hands-on preview with the Afterglow Prismatic Wired Controller and it works just as well as the official Microsoft controller. There are even buttons on the bottom of the controller that lets the player customize the controls. The best part is that it has a built-in audio jack for your headset. This is a great feature for players that are not fans of the headset adapter. The game and voice chat volume can be controlled by the push of a tiny button and by using the D-pad too.
The next Xbox One item is the Afterglow AG 7, which is a wireless headset being released for the console in August. This is the first of its kind for PDP. Just plug in the transmitter to the USB port on your Xbox One and you are all set to go. I got to try this headset out while I was at E3 and it truly sounds great. If comfort and fantastic sound is what you seek, then look no further because at $100, this is the most affordable wireless headset that you will find on the market. You can head over to Amazon.com to pre-order your own today.
PDP might do tech gadgets well, but the other thing that PDP gets right are Nintendo 3DS accessories. This October PDP will be releasing the coolest Legend of Zelda 3DS stand that would look great on any desk or sturdy surface of your choice. I had the opportunity in person at E3 and I will say that any Zelda fan would be happy to receive this as a gift. Sadly, I did not get a picture for your viewing pleasure, but I repeat, the 3DS stand is pretty cool.
Another awesome product that PDP is putting out in October are Mario themed Amiibo stands. They are the green pipes that house piranha plants or Mario uses to traverse secret caves to collect coins. The picture down below does not do this adorable stand justice. This is going to look perfect in your home to proudly display your Amiibos.
