Headlander is the latest Double Fine game (so you already know it’s gonna be fucking bananas, but also awesome), which is also being published by Adult Swim. I gotta be honest, I kept seeing stuff about this game, but really couldn’t have cared less about it, in fact, I didn’t even know it was a Double Fine game. After watching the story trailer for the game and learning about what it is, I’m floored, this game looks amazing, in many different ways.

The artwork is super funky with that weird future-70’s look, the music is cool, the story premise is just weird enough to be interesting, kind of like Brutal Legends. Of course, the gameplay is what steals the show for me, because this kind of thing promises a lot of variety, being able to knock the heads off of enemy robots and control their body sounds kickass.

It’s not just that we’re promised that, but we’re going to be fighting an army of all kinds of different robots, which means that we’re promised a lot of bodies to control! Not only that, but since this takes place in a robo-topia where everything is a robot, I better be able to plunk my head down on some kind of janitor robot and mop the floor for an achievement or something. I’m kidding, of course, but at the same time, I feel like this is the kind of game that’s going to have awesome little charming things like that, and to me, that’s the best thing a game can be, charming.

Anyway, check out the trail above and see for yourself how kickass this game is going to be when it comes out July 26th, 2016.
