Yesterday, a showrunner for Netflix’s The Witcher series revealed two major casting announcements for the show’s two main female leads. It was revealed that Freya Allan and Anya Chalotra have been cast as Ciri and Yennefer respectively, who are two key characters in Geralt’s life, who is being played by Henry Cavill.
Ciri, first debuted in The Witcher 3, and she is Geralt’s quasi-daughter. She’s also trained in the skills of Witching, at least in the video game version, so fans should expect the same in the show. She does appear to be quite a bit younger in the show based on Allan’s look, but overall I think she will make for a solid Ciri based on her similar look to the video game characters.
Yennefer has been around for a while, and is the love interest of Geralt. Although, like Ciri, it appears as if Yennefer will be younger in the show too, which could make her and Geralt’s relationship a bit odd looking if it’s explored in the show.
Anyway, the point of this post is the fact that Photoshop pimp BossLogic has created some fan art depicting each of the announced show leads in full character. You can check out his work above if you missed it, or below if you want the high-res version.
