If you haven’t heard the news, X-Files is returning to television for a six-episode series that begins in January. Earlier this week fans got a new trailer to get excited over (above) and make speculations about what to expect after the original show ended in 2002. David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reprise their roles as Agent Fox Mulder and Agent Dana Scully with a plot that mixes stand-alone and overarching storylines that further the mythology of the show’s original run. The show will feature guest stars that include Joel McHale, Robbie Amell, Lauren Ambrose, Annabeth Gish, Annet Mahendru, Rhys Darby, Kumail Nanjiani, and a return of “The Smoking Man” played by William B. Davis.

X-Files is set to return to television on January 24th, 2016 on Fox.
