ILM Goes Behind the Magic with Pacific Rim and Into Darkness

George Lucas, among other things, created ILM during the 70’s to provide special effects for his films, most notably the Star Wars trilogy. ILM is still around and not going anywhere even though old Georgey Boy sold off his Star Wars baby to Disney. In fact, ILM and its special effects wizards worked on many of the big budget effect having blockbusters from 2013.

Two of the projects in particular were Pacific Rim, and Star Trek: Into Darkness. To showcase some of the magic and technical wizardry used in these films ILM has released three new “Behind the Magic” videos – one for Pacific Rim, and two for Into Darkness. If you love film, and the art of filmmaking, then you’ll surely appreciate the behind the scenes look at how ILM made these two films appear as real as possible.

Thank the movie gods for special effects and powerful computers!
