In my opinion X-Men: First Class was a great reboot to the franchise, and one of the better prequels I’ve seen for a wildly popular piece of pop culture. The common geek may not have noticed that First Class introduced some themes that don’t match up with what the first round of X-Men movies laid out. I would fall into that category, but while watching First Class I did question some of its plot points, because they seemed to contradict what was portrayed in X1-X3. Now I’m not one to let a few continuity issues ruin my day, but there are a few hardcore fanboys out there with their yellow tights in a bunch.
In fact, someone has gone far enough to make an animated infographic that explains in detail how major parts of the film don’t line up with the originals. I didn’t realized there were so many odd things about First Class, but after watching the explanation below the film’s creators definitely used some liberal story telling. Check it out below, and let us know if these mishaps bother you as much as they do a X-Men fanboy. You’ve been wishing you had time to worry about movie continuity…
