Interesting Fanmade Halo Live-Action Short Using Machinima and Real Actors

Amateur film makers Alan Marsala and Chance McManus posted a video on Vimeo today called ‘You Will Never Get the Power Core’.  What distinguishes this particular fanmade Halo video from the rest, is not its use of machinima (animation using videogames), but the fact that they mixed it in with live-action shots as well.  Think along the lines of Jordan’s ‘Space Jam’, or ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit’ to get a reference for what I’m describing.  Besides the short being cheesier than a sci-fi B-Movie, I was quite impressed with that these two guys pulled off.  To me it looks like these gaming geeks got to fulfill a fantasy that most gamers would like to have, which is playing in the actual world of your favorite game.  Geeks always seem to find a way to pull off the impossible.  Check out ‘You Will Never Get the Power Core’ below.  You’ve been thinking that you’d look really good in a videogame…
