This video is a perfect example of what technology will make a group of teens do.  We’ve all seen videos of wannabe Jackass cast members lighting fireworks off in their assholes, but this one reaches a whole new level of stupidity in exchange for a brief moment in the limelight.  It’s truly amazing what the lure of some recognition on YouTube will make a person do.

A group of teens in Pittsburgh, PA decided to get into the iPad spirit by smashing one of the coveted devices immediately after buying it.  Watching the video made me feel like I was seeing a small pet get brutalized by deranged teenagers.  To geeks across the world it has to be painful to watch this.  If I knew these guys wanted to buy an iPad just to smash it, I would have offered them an alternative.  I’d let them smack me around with the bat in exchange for a free iPad.  It would be reminiscent of the old Bumfights viral videos that used to rule the net.

Honestly, I could give a load about these guys and what they did.  It’s a free country and dip-shits can do whatever they want with their money.  The only disturbing thing is that this only solidifies the fact that in this day and age of technology, it’s very easy for people to get tiny amounts of fame for doing dumb stuff.  It’s only a matter of time before we get videos on YouTube of babies getting the same bat treatment.  Check out the video and let us know how it makes you feel.
