iPhone 4S Sells Like Hotcakes Proves Haters Wrong

Let’s face it, the iPhone 4S wasn’t a popular announcement.  Apple fanboys around the globe scoffed at the fact that there wasn’t an iPhone 5 coming out anytime soon, and they were quick to poke fun at the 4S for not being anything revolutionary.  Well the market has spoken over the weekend, and the iPhone 4S has become the fastest selling smartphone of all-time.  It even outsold the iPhone 4 in terms of opening weekend sales by 2:1.  In fact, in just 3 days this handset has sold 4 million units!  When you consider that there were probably a ton of a-holes like me who had to pay full price to upgrade I’d say Apple’s move to release an iPhone 4S paid off in spades.  Apple’s VP of worldwide sales Phil Schiller summed up the iPhone 4S success in the statement below:

“iPhone 4S is off to a great start with more than four million sold in its first weekend—the most ever for a phone and more than double the iPhone 4 launch during its first three days. iPhone 4S is a hit with customers around the world, and together with iOS 5 and iCloud, is the best iPhone ever.”

If the iPhone 4S is nothing special then how do you explain these sales numbers?  Fandroids will chalk it up to blind Apple faith, but if I’m willing to pay $700 for a 4S then what does that say about the quality of the iPhone platform?  When gadgets are awesome the geeks will speak with their wallet, and that’s exactly what happened with the iPhone 4S.  I’d imagine there’s some people out there wishing they jumped on the 4S bandwagon sooner, because now that it’s killing, they want one too but can’t get one.  To these folks I say, Ha!  You’ve been thinking that the Buddha is an Apple @%$$*^…
