I feel like my head is going to explode.  I can’t seem to pull away from the live feed from E3 2010, which is currently featuring the Microsoft keynote speech.  Within the past hour I’ve seen insane footage from Call of Duty: Black Ops, Metal Gear Solid: Rising, Gears of War 3, Fable 3, and Halo: Reach.  Right now they’re going through a Kinect demo, which is the official name of Project Natal.  I apologize for jumping around, but I’m throwing words down as the live coverage is streaming.

This Kinect demo is unreal.  They’re showing how you can control your Xbox 360 by using just your hand, or voice commands.  The presenter was able to pull up a movie with his hand, select a certain scene, and pause it with a voice command.  It all seemed to flow so smoothly.  Kinect and its controller-less commands are sick!  It really does look like some futuristic tech.  I love voice commands!

Back to the game demos I’ve seen.  COD: Black Ops looks awesome.  It’s very CODish, but by far the best looking entry in the series I’ve seen so far.  The short demo was intense and dealt with crawling through caves and stealing a helicopter.  If I get vid I’ll update this post, but trust me for now, it’s dope.

The next game that looked mind-boggling was Metal Gear Solid: Rising.  I’ve never played a MGS game, but this demo has me wanting to.  The game focuses on sword play and featured the main character strategically dismembering the bad guys like I’ve never seen before.  Using bullet-time-esque slow-mo you can pick which limbs to sever and chop them off with precision I’ve never seen before.  He was even chopping melons up into edible slices!  Totally badass!

CliffyB came out to showcase Gears of War 3 4 person co-op, and I couldn’t contain my excitement.  Gears of War 3 literally looks amazing.  The 4 player co-op is sick!  You can tell the action is dialed up to 10 in this installment of GOW, and you’ll definitely need your pals to conquer it.  Those Lambent foes look like a nightmare!  One of them grabbed a dude and ripped him into 4 pieces!  There was also a scene of a Locust ripping off a COG soldier’s arm and beating him with it.  I can’t wait for this game now!!

Finally, Bungie came out and demoed the 4 person co-op from Halo: Reach.  This is by far the best looking Halo game to date.  The world of Reach looked beautiful, and so did the Spartan soldiers that accompany you.  I was impressed with how well it looked.  The big reveal in the demo was the fact that there will be space battles in Halo: Reach!  That’s right, you’ll be taking over space craft and duking it out in the stars!  It looked phenomenal.

That’s what I have for now.  Like I said I’m just kind of puking everything I’m seeing and hearing as fast as I can.  There’s going to be a lot of jumping around and incoherent thoughts, so I apologize now.  I’m moving on to some in-depth Kinetic coverage as this is what MS has been focusing on for the past 30 minutes.  Stay tuned, this is a great week!  You’ve been Xbox overloaded…
