It’s Official: Gaming is the Master of Entertainment

I’ve been a gamer since I can first remember.  Back in those days gaming was still a niche form of entertainment, which was full of geeks and social outcasts.  This is no longer the case.  Gaming has officially become a mainstream form of entertainment.  The Guinness Book of World Records has recognized this feat by honoring Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 as the most successful entertainment launch of all time.  The game earned this honor by selling $401.6 million dollars worth of sales in one freaking day!  Don’t you wish you were in the gaming industry now?

It truly is an achievement in entertainment, and solidifies gaming as a mainstream form of keeping humans occupied.  I’m glad that our preferred method of entertainment is finally getting some legit cred.  It’s been a long journey from the days of playing our crappy 8-bit games over 30 years ago.  All gamers should be proud of this accomplishment, because it only means more companies will be jumping on the gaming bandwagon now that they know gamers are willing to shell out major coin to be entertained.  Here’s to you gaming, you truly have arrived now!

You’ve been enlightened…
