It’s Official – The Shire Will Remain in New Zealand

After Warner Bros. threatened to take the ‘Hobbit’ production to another country and some meetings between their executives and New Zealand officials, it has been determined that the 2 Hobbit films will indeed remain in the same country where the LOTR trilogy was filmed.  Thank you baby Jesus!  I would have been fine with wherever they filmed this damn thing as long as it got made, but knowing that the ‘Hobbit’ will indeed film in the real world version of Middle Earth I can say that I’m having my cake and eating it too.  Finally this damn project can get underway.  Now that everything has been greenlit production should start this February with the first of the planned two ‘Hobbit’ films hitting theaters in 2012.  Whoo….what a mess this thing has been!  You’ve been wanting to see this thing greenlit since 2003…
