Most geeks are anxiously awaiting more details to be released for the upcoming J.J. Abrams directed Star Wars movie. There have been many recent rumors about casting, the script, and shooting dates, which Abrams himself has finally begun addressing. Well, at least some of the casting rumors.
One thing that Breaking Bad fans have wanted to know is if Jesse Plemons, the actor who portrayed the character Todd, would have a role in the upcoming film based on some Internet rumors. Luckily, while Abrams was doing a press tour he did elaborate on the Plemons rumor:
“He is one of the actors that we’ve talked to, yeah. It’s not often that I read about actors that I’m going to be meeting. I get to read articles about actors who were going to come in, so I get to see someone and say, ‘Oh, I read that I was going to see you. It’s very nice to see you.’ It’s usually agents talking to people about what’s happening. It’s just a lot of noise.”
Abrams also touched on the subject of whether or not the film would be shot using an IMAX camera:
“In the right situation, I’d like to use IMAX again. The problem with IMAX is that it’s a very loud camera. It’s a very unreliable camera. Only so much film can be in the camera. You can’t really do intimate scenes with it. It’s slow. They break down often. Having said that, they’re working on digital versions of that, so there may be a version one day. But, we’re going to be shooting this next movie on film.”
Let’s be get real for a minute, if a new Star Wars film is going to be released, how is it not going to be made for IMAX? He does make important points on why he may choose to not film in IMAX though, so I guess in J.J. we trust?
What are your thought on this? Would Jesse Plemons be a good candidate for a role in the upcoming Star Wars film? Would it make any difference to you whether or not the movie was filmed in IMAX? If you have an opinion please leave a comment down below.
