Peter Jackson is known for providing all sorts of stellar behind the scenes access to his movie shoots, and his The Hobbit trilogy production has been no different. Throughout it’s 2 year shoot he’s posted online vlogs and a few random set vids and pics, which all provide insight into his film making process.
Yesterday marked the final day of filming for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, and The Hobbit: There and Back Again, so Peter decided to treat fans to a full day of blogging from the set, and even posted photos of the action. The level of insight is phenomenal, and some of the set images will spark your imagination to figure out what scene they may be depicting from the book.
You can check out all of his photos below, but make sure to click on their source link to read Jackson’s full description of each picture.
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug opens on December 13, 2013, and The Hobbit: There and Back Again will release on December 17, 2014.
