Jessica Chobot Stars as Samus in Awesome Metroid: The Sky Calls Short

Nerdist Host and geek girl extraordinaire, Jessica Chobot, shared a link to a live-action Metroid project she worked on called Metroid: The Sky Calls, and it’s pretty great.

The short was shot using the same gritty visual style of sci-fi films from the late 60’s, 70’s, and early 80’s, so it definitely has an Aliens feel to it. The short itself is more representative of the original Metroid game, so it’s all about solitude, tight spaces, and exploration. Chobot is responsible for the live-action Samus segments, while America Young handles the CGI action bits. Both of their performances definitely combine to make one helluva Samus.

Head on up above to check it out.
