Kevin Smith Suffers Major Heart Attack But is Still “Above Ground”
Last night Kevin Smith, the director and actor behind Silent Bob and the many movies he starred in with Jay (Jason Mewes), suffered a major heart attack after performing one of his stage shows. Apparently after he finished his show and was waiting to go out for the second show, he suffered a “Widow-maker” style heart attack thanks to a 100% blockage of his LAD artery.
Smith tweeted out a message from his hospital bed to let fans know that he is still alive and is “above ground.” He went on to say that if he hadn’t canceled his second show he would have died if he didn’t make it to the hospital when he did. He’s currently recovering in a hospital, but no other details have been released. If you want to keep tabs on Smith, your best bet is to follow his Twitter account. He hasn’t posted anything in eight hours, which is when he posted the tweet below.
After the first show this evening, I had a massive heart attack. The Doctor who saved my life told me I had 100% blockage of my LAD artery (aka “the Widow-Maker”). If I hadn’t canceled show 2 to go to the hospital, I would’ve died tonight. But for now, I’m still above ground! pic.twitter.com/M5gSnW9E5h
