It’s not easy for an indie developer to take on the heavy hitters in the FPS world, but that’s exactly the sort of challenge the crew at Appsolutely Studios is taking head-on. Battle of the Sun is available for funding on Kickstarter and Steam Greenlight as they look to make this dream a reality in 2015. Their Kickstarter goal is set at $25,000, and are hoping to hit that by the February 28th deadline.

Battle of the Sun is an interactive first person shooter/combat game in which an alien invasion has taken place, and it’s up to the Military’s Special Ops forces to act as defense. The game offers various aliens to fight, and a plethora of weapons to take them out. Some of the mechanics of the game include scenario based levels and missions, first person melee and weapon combat, and realistic AI movement.

Once the funding goal has been hit, Appsolutely will be able to release the game on Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, iOS and Android later this year. Be sure to check out the gallery after the break for some screenshots.
