At this point in time I don’t think I’ll ever get over the Star Wars prequels and what they did to my childhood love. Within six years these three abortions managed to turn one of the most excellent geek franchises in the Universe into a clusterf*ck of CGI creations, and “How not to Act” educational videos. It’s safe to say that some love was lost between me and George Lucas’s imagination, but at least we have fan-made creations to help heal those deep wounds.

One such piece of Star Wars fan-made fiction that is helping to make the prequels more tolerable is dzine123‘s ‘The Fastest and Funniest Lego Star Wars Story Ever Told The Prequel” This little masterpiece not only tells the entire plot of the Star Wars prequels in under 3 minutes, but it does it using some of the most finely crafted Lego stop-motion I’ve ever seen. This thing had to take months and months of planning to build, shoot, and edit. I can’t even imagine the level of patience that is needed to go into a project like this.

I know for a fact that I’m not cut out for a project like this, because the first time a Lego piece didn’t fit where I needed it to I’d smash the whole set with my best Godzilla impression. Just wait until you see the level of perfection that went into making this thing. If I didn’t know any better I’d think that Lucasfilm produced this themselves! If you’ve been lucky enough not to see the live-action versions of the Star Wars prequels please do yourself a favor and just watch this abridged Lego version below. You’ve been blown away at what can be done with your favorite childhood building blocks, a camera, and a computer…
