Lightning Returns Demo Now Available, PS3 Users Get Free DLC

Square-Enix has released a playable demo for Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII on the Xbox 360 and PS3. Gamers who download the PS3 version are in for a special treat though, as they’ll unlock the ‘Utsusemi Garb DLC’, which includes the Heavenly Fan weapon and the Kaminari shield item. This special DLC content will also be available in the full retail version of the game once it’s released, and it will eventually be released for purchase for those who can’t get it via the demo.

The demo will place players in control of Lightning as she investigates the Yusnaan palace, which belonged to Snow. Players will also get to try out the new customization options present in the game, as well as the overhauled battle system. Gamers that are daring enough to activate the Outerworld services to submit their battle scores from the final fight against Zaltys will also unlock the ‘Siegfried’ outfit for use in the full game. This special outfit will be available to both Xbox 360 and PS3 gamers who download and complete the demo.

In addition to this announcement it has also been revealed that Amazon will be offering an exclusive DLC pack for those willing to pre-order the game from the online retailer. The ‘Spira’s Summoner’ DLC will give Lightning access to Yuna’s iconic outfit, staff and victory pose from the classic FFX. For more details you can check out the official Amazon listing.
