Well it was only a matter of time before Mario would make the leap from the small screen to the big screen. Nintendo made the announcement on Twitter and the good news is that Miyamoto is co-producing the movie. If you’re not familiar with Illumination, you might be familiar with a few movies they released featuring your favorite, banana saying goons – Minions.

While the news is exciting, I can’t be the only person wondering if the Minions will make an appearance in the upcoming Mario movie. If they do, it’s just another way to capitalize on what kids love and drive most parents crazy. Some Mario fans might even be thinking, what about the live action Super Mario Bros., wasn’t that good enough? Do we really need a Mario movie? The answers is, who knows. Hollywood tends to go for what’s trending.
