Mark Hamill May Have Confirmed Luke Skywalker’s Fate in Star Wars Episode VIII

Earlier today on Twitter Mark Hamill shared a video of himself having his face shaved, which has been covered by a beard since May of 2015 for his role as Luke Skywalker in Star Wars Episode VII and VIII, but the caption may foreshadow the Jedi Masters fate by the end of Episode VIII.

Hamill bid farewell to his beard in the tweet, but cheekily added “at least til EpisodeIX,” which to me clearly indicates that Luke Skywalker will be in the final episode of the new trilogy. Many have speculated that Luke may get taken out in Episode VIII, but that doesn’t seem to be the case thanks to Hamill’s tweet. It could all be a smoke screen, or he could possibly perish and still play the Force ghost version of Luke, which would definitely still sport the old Jedi Master’s beard. Who knows, I’m sure like other Star Wars superfans I’m reading way too into this tweet, but it is pretty revealing if Hamill isn’t playing his usual awesome games with fans on social media.

You can check out the tweet below.

Star Wars Episode VIII hits theaters December 2017.
