Mark Hamill to Play Trickster on ‘The Flash’
Tying yet another link to the early ’90s The Flash live-action show, the current CW iteration will feature Mark Hamill once again playing the Trickster. The character while be somewhat updated for the new version of the show but Hamill will still play the same character of James Jesse, the Trickster.
As confirmed by HitFix, Hamill will play Trickster for the 17th episode of the first season, which will air sometime in 2015. His character will be updated to be, per the description of the episode, an anarchist terrorist con man serving a life sentence that will assist Barry Allen and Detective West stop an imposter Trickster who is following in the original’s footsteps.
Hamill will be reunited with his former foe, the original Flash John Wesley Shipp, who plays Barry Allen’s father in the current show. The show’s executive producer Andrew Kreisberg was elated to hear Hamill say yes to the offer of playing the Trickster again.
“Having Mark reprise his role as The Trickster was on our original wish list when we were planning our version of The Flash. Christmas and Chanukah came early for us this year when he said yes! We are beyond humbled and excited to have him joining us for another round of deadly trickery!”
